Lots of people are showing up for Early Voting in Tennessee

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Early voting began on Wednesday in Tennessee.

Officials say this midterm election is attracting a lot of voters.

Hamilton County residents can vote early at the Election Commission, Brainerd Rec. Center, Collegedale Municipal Building and the Hixson Rec Center.

As of 4 this afternoon, more than four thousand voters have gone to the polls.

These numbers are on track to match the turnout during the 2016 presidential election.

Election Administrator Kerry Steelman told us “Unfortunately, in these midterm elections, there typically is not as much interest as say a presidential election. But what we are seeing today is interest and turnout at a presidential election year level.”

Remember to bring your state or federal photo ID with you when you go to vote.
