Police Charge Markalla Ford With Driving Robbery Get-Away Car; Dragging Victim

Police have charged Markalla Lashajon Ford with driving the get-away car in a robbery at a car wash on Lee Highway. An employee at the business was dragged by the vehicle after being strangled by the robber, police said.

Ms. Ford, 20, of 6315 Rosemary Dr., is charged with robbery and reckless endangerment.

The 40-year-old employee identified Ms. Ford as the driver of the white Chrysler Pacifica that was at the scene.

He said he was dragged by the Pacifica 20-30 yards before letting go. Police said he had marks on his knees and elbows.

Ms. Ford said other females and one male were with her at the Scenic City Car Wash, 5907 Lee Highway.
