Salvation Army begins taking names today for this year’s Angel Tree

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – With fewer than 9 weeks left until Christmas, many local families will need assistance this year.

Today is the first day of registration for the Angel Tree program.

Families at or below the poverty line with children 12 and younger, are eligible for that annual program.

Seniors 60 AND OVER are also invited to register.

Maj. Chiffonia Smith told us “Last year we helped about 1500 families that translated to about 4,000 angels and I believe it will probably be around the same this year if not more.”

In Chattanooga, you can register at 5001 Covington Street, off Rossville Boulevard from 9 am to 3 pm until November 2nd.
