Emily’s List of Weekday Activities – October 30, 2018

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga and in nearby cities this week.

You can take a more sophisticated approach to Halloween by having some afternoon tea.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Polly Claire’s The Historic Dent House is offering a four-course traditional afternoon tea featuring hot tea and scones, assorted Halloween treats, finger sandwiches and desserts.

Even the staff members will be in costume.

It’s happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

If you don’t want to wait until Halloween to get some treats, you can head over to the Mountain City Club Tuesday night to go trunk or treating, and support a good cause.

Your kids can dress up in their costumes, and collect candy there for free, as long they bring a canned food item for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

The event is happening from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

If you’re 21 or older, the Hunter Museum of American Art is the place to be on Halloween night.

The “Haunted Hunter” will have a trick or treat station, costume contest, cash bar, and dancing.

The event is from 7 to 11 p.m.

Businesses in downtown Dalton will be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters Wednesday night.

Just look for the trick-or-treat signs to see which ones are participating.

It’s all happening from 5 to 7 p.m.
