Golden Apple: Alexis Nix

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Alexis Nix treats her students like they are part of her family.

The Lakeside Academy teacher is passionate about her job, and really cares about her kids.

The second grade teacher loves coming into the classroom every day, and watching her students grow academically.

Nix comes from a family of educators.

“Well, my grandmother and my mom are both teachers. And just watching the hard work they put in and also watch thing you know the rewards they got from it, it just really inspired me. Just learned that from them.”

Nix says teaching is her calling, and that’s just one of the reasons she is this week’s Golden Apple Award winner.
