‘Sculptures in the Sky’ brings Saturday Family Fun

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Get ready for some high-flying family fun when the skies will be filled with colorful kites at ‘Sculptures in the Sky.’

The free event takes place today from 12pm – 6pm at 1800 Polk Street.

Kids will be able to race parachute-like kites in what fliers call ‘Running with the Bols.’ Visitors will also be able to make their own kites for free.

Also, Chattanooga police officers will be battling it out with firefighters with Rokkaku fighting kites.

In addition to the kites, visitors can also enjoy performances, local food trucks, and a beer tent.

“Kites have developed into a true art form and are now flown all over the world,” said Chuck Jones, owner of the River City Kites.
