Fire Destroys House on Signal Mountain

Signal Mountain, TN (WDEF) – Early Sunday morning, multiple fire crews responded to a back deck fire of 1329 Sunset Drive on Signal Mountain.

While no injuries were reported, the house is a total loss. Damages are estimated to be over a million dollars.

Officials say the rugged terrain made extinguishing the fire a challenge. With the house positioned 120-feet off the main road, firefighters had to provide over 2,000 feet of hose line to put out the blaze.

Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services was on the scene for potential injuries to the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
