Organizers encourage people to sign up for Grateful Gobbler

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Organizers are encouraging people to sign up for an annual walk in Chattanooga that’s for a good cause.

The Grateful Gobbler 5k walk, run, stroll, or roll benefits the Maclellan Shelter for Families. All money raised goes directly to the shelter.

It’s takes place on Thanksgiving Day at Coolidge Park.

CHI Memorial is one of the partners who helps make the event possible.

“This program is a good partnership for us because it is attending to people who have no hope,” said Bob Scheri, with CHI Memorial.

“It is for such a good cause. A very serious cause, but yet it is a lot of fun. People dress like I am right now. They get hats, they bring their dogs, they push babies in strollers,” said Betsy McCright, the Grateful Gobbler, co-chair.
