Racks were knocked over and merchandise destroyed as officers tried to get a man into custody in the Gunbarrel Road Walmart on Saturday.

Randall Lee Taylor, 48, of 1403 Woodmore Lane, was charged with aggravated assault on police, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and vandalism.

Police were summoned to the Walmart on a report that Taylor was yelling at employees in the electronics department. Officers said the man smelled strongly of marijuana.

When an officer told Taylor to put his hands on the counter, he refused to comply, saying he had done nothing wrong.

An officer finally tased Taylor, but police said that enraged him and he grabbed the taser and activated it.

He was finally handcuffed when backup officers arrived.

The officers said at 6'2" and 222 pounds he was bigger than them.
