Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – May 12, 2018

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga and in nearby cities this Mother’s Day weekend.

If you and Mom like strawberries, you’re in luck! The Tennessee Strawberry Festival is happening this weekend.

This is the 71st year for the event.

You can check out a parade, plus plenty of arts and crafts, food and entertainment.

Activities are happening all day Saturday in downtown Dayton, Tennessee.

Beer fans will enjoy Chattabrewga Saturday afternoon.

Admission to this craft beer festival gets you a commemorative tasting glass, and unlimited samples at the event.

There will also be music, and other vendors.

The event is from 12 to 5 p.m. at the First Tennessee Pavilion.

The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, so why not take advantage of it by going to a baseball game Saturday night?

The Chattanooga Lookouts are playing the Tennessee Smokies.

It’s also Star Wars night, where you can meet some of your favorite characters from the movie series.

The game starts at 7:15 p.m. at AT&T Field. Fireworks will be afterward.

You don’t have to go all the way to Las Vegas to see a Cirque du Soleil show this weekend.

The performers are in town until Sunday.

This family friendly show includes amazing acrobatics, comedy, and music.

The shows are at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, and 1 p.m., Sunday, at the UTC McKenzie Arena.

Drummers will enjoy the show, Stomp, at the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday.

This percussion show turns unconventional items into instruments – everything from wooden poles and brooms, to garbage cans – showing you can make music with anything.

Show times are at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
