McKamey offers $500 reward for dog abuse case

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The McKamey Animal Center is offering a $500 reward in a case of a neglected dog.

The dog was found wandering in the 2500 block of 6th Avenue on Tuesday.

It had a blue harness and leash attached to him.

The male dog was thin and weak.

McKamey officials believe he wasn’t fed for a long time.

He is now recovering after two surgeries.

According to Executive Director Jamie McAloon,” Animal cruelty is a criminal offense in Tennessee and we take these cases very seriously. Someone knows who owned this dog and we intend to locate them for questioning.”

“The dog, affectionately called Starbuck by the McKamey staff also suffered from untreated wounds that were infected and required immediate surgery.”
