Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – May 4, 2018

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga and in nearby cities this weekend.

The Nightfall Concert Series is starting back Friday night.

This is a great place to enjoy live music, plus food and beer.

Lenox Hills is the opening act, performing at 7 p.m., while the Vandoliers headline at 8 p.m.

It’s all happening at Miller Plaza downtown.

If you’d rather listen to some bluegrass, the Boxcar Pinion Bluegrass Festival is happening Friday and Saturday in Chickamauga, Georgia.

Various bands will take the stage from 12 to 10 p.m. both days, but musicians will playing all night long.

You can even take fiddle lessons at the festival.

There’s also food and arts and craft vendors.

The festival is being held at Mountain Cove Farms.

If you’re looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, one fun tradition for many Chattanoogans is the Running of the Chihuahuas event.

It features several rising stars with performances starting at 3 p.m.

The big chihuahua race is at 6 p.m.

This is at the First Tennessee Pavilion.

You can always help in the fight to beat cancer at Relay for Life.

Head over to the Green on Chestnut Street, where you can help honor those who lost their fight with cancer, and support those currently battling the disease.

Activities are taking place from 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
