Burlington donates $10,000 to Hardy Elementary

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Chattanooga elementary school got a donation from a national retailer.

This afternoon, Hardy Elementary School received a $10,000 donation from Burlington.

The store has a partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org.

They made the donation at the same time they are getting ready to open up a new store in the Chattanooga area.

Teachers say this donation means a lot and people with Burlington say it feels good to give back.

Hardy Principal Robin Bambrey says, “It is such a great experience for the kids to have this opportunity to have supplies and materials to build our classroom libraries. I mean it is such an honor.”

David Lowrey with Burlington told us about his favorite part of the presentation, “The kids’ excitement. We were watching them today. It was such an honor. It was exciting watching their reaction. The teachers especially.”

The new Burlington store will open on May 11, off Gunbarrel Road.
