Jacob Christian Grant
Jacob Christian Grant has been arrested for planting a cell phone in his ex-girlfriend's car. Police said he had been using it to track her whereabouts.
Grant, 20, of 3714 Calhoun Ave., is charged with electronic tracking of a motor vehicle, harassment and stalking.
On Monday, the former girlfriend said Grant showed up on his motorcycle outside the City Cafe on Carter Street, where she had gone with friends. She said he yelled at them and threatened to mess up her vehicle.
The woman said she had already called Ringgold Police earlier in the day after another encounter with Grant. She said he was also yelling at her there. She said he left before Ringgold officers arrived.
She said she could not figure out why Grant kept knowing her location. Chattanooga Police searched her car and found a cell phone belonging to Grant hidden in between the back seat back cushion and the bottom cushion. It had several "Find My IPhone" notifications on it.
Grant tried to text her numerous times, it was stated.
