Homeless man charged with attempted rape of woman in Coolidge Park

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A man is behind bars, charged with attempted rape in Chattanooga.

Police say they were called to Coolidge Park for this attempted sexual assault that was reported on River Street.

‭Officials say the victim remembers the suspect, Anthony Hixson , saying “you know you want it” after flirting with him under the Walnut Street Bridge.

A witness identified Anthony Hixson as the man seen on top of a struggling woman.

The victim says a black male managed to pul the suspect off of her before police arrived.

Hixson is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on $50,000 bond.
