Chattanooga Police arrest two after pursuit

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Two people have been arrested after a police pursuit Saturday night.

Chattanooga Police said officers attempted to stop a vehicle at a gas pump, and as they approached, the suspect accelerated and struck the officer’s front fender.

Authorities said a pursuit started and lasted around 15 to 20 minutes.

The suspect eventually hit a telephone pole on the 2900 block of Dodds Avenue.

Police said the driver, Devon Sherrer, and passenger, Scyhuler Davis, fled on foot, but were caught quickly.

Police said that the vehicle was reported stolen.

They also recovered from the suspects a firearm and a large amount of narcotics.

Authorities said the officer’s injuries are non life-threatening.

Sherrer faces Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Theft, Evading Arrest 2X, Drugs Resale 2X, and Poss. Firearm charges.

Scyhuler Davis faces Evading Arrest and Drugs Resale 2X charges.
