OSHA fines local company for injuries at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant

WASHINGTON D.C. (WDEF) – OSHA has cited Day and Zimmerman N-P-S Incorporated.

The company is accused of exposing employees to electric shock hazards at the Tennessee Valley Authority Sequoyah Nuclear Power Plant in Soddy Daisy.

The Federal agency says two employees pulling electrical cable suffered burns from an arc flash.

OSHA cited the Chattanooga-based company for failing to require employees wear protective clothing and equipment.

The company has 15 business days to comply.

The company faces more than $71,000 in proposed penalties.
