Darius Woods
Chattanooga Police charged Darius Woods, 26, on Wednesday, with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony after eyewitnesses made identifications.
Tavares Walker, 31, suffered multiple gunshot wounds on Sept. 9, at the 900 block of Wheeler Avenue.
A witness said the two men were in a verbal altercation, then Walker started to leave. That is when Woods pulled a handgun out of his waistband and began firing, it was stated.
Police found long dread-lock type hair and 9mm shell casings at the scene.
The shooter was described as a black male with long dreads wearing a white shirt, jeans and Jordan Retro 12 shoes.
Woods was later picked out of a lineup by two witnesses.
There is also video footage of the suspect leaving the scene, it was stated.
