Fire in Chattanooga displaces family

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A fire in Chattanooga has forced a family of five to leave their home.

The fire broke out right after 9 p.m. Saturday night at 1820 Foust Street.

Fire crews arriving on scene found heavy flames on the back porch.

They got the flames out in 20 minutes.

No one was injured.

But there was damage to the wiring of the home, and the meter had to be taken out.

That means the family will have to stay somewhere else while repairs are made.

The fire caused 20-thousand dollars in damages.

There’s no word yet on the cause.
