Police have charged Deron Deseon Banks with firing shots at a vehicle occupied by his former girlfriend and another female.

No one was hurt in the incident on Dodson Avenue on Saturday.

Banks, 21, of 736 Sylvan Dr., is charged with four counts of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, domestic assault, possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime and tampering with evidence.

The girlfriend said Banks had pulled up to her house and they got into an argument. She said he was looking for her new boyfriend "because he wanted to shoot him." She declined to give him any information.

She said Banks told her before he drove off, "Don't give the police any information when I light this b---- up."

A short time later, she said Banks came back driving north on Dodson Avenue and began shooting out the front passenger side window. She said she was in a car in front of her house with a female friend. Four people were inside the house at the time, including a four-month-old child.

She said Banks had been armed with a .40 caliber handgun.

Police said there was no damage showing on the car of the other female.

Police located inside Banks' vehicle three .40 caliber shell casings. Two were in the back seat area and one in the front passenger seat. Police said that was consistent with someone shooting from the driver seat out the front passenger window.

Banks said he tossed the gun near police headquarters. Officers were unable to find the gun.
