Police said they observed Donell Cash block the pathway of several citizens and ask them for cash as he "worked" the parking lot on Market Street between 4th and 5th. Cash told an officer that he was trying to get enough money to purchase a bottle of liquor.

Police said they responded to numerous attempted break-ins/home invasions in the Highland Park area on one evening, including one at 16th Street. A woman said she was home at approximately 9:50 p.m. when she heard banging on the rear door. She said she then went to the back door and found it had been kicked in, causing damage to the door jamb and lockset ($200). The metal mesh security door had been cut around the lock area ($100) so that the subject could unlock it from the inside prior to kicking in the main exterior door. Officers checked the area extensively, but no suspect was located.

At 1202 Chestnut St., police took a report on a vehicle that had been stolen and recovered. Two men said they were sharing a hotel room behind this parking garage and were utilizing the parking garage at this location during their stay. They both had their vehicles parked here. One of the men said he went out to the parking garage around 2:48 a.m. to put some of his bags in his car because they were leaving in a few hours. He said he noticed a female in the car of his friend. He called the friend on the phone and asked who was in his car. He was told that no one should be in it. The owner came running out into the parking garage and witnessed a female inside his vehicle begin to pull out of the parking space and stop at the payment kiosk at the parking garage exit. The owner ran up to his vehicle and demanded the female get out of his car. The woman asked who he was and he informed her he was the owner of the vehicle she was trying to drive away in. He told her she needed to get out or he was calling the police. The woman begged him not to call the police, then she put the car in reverse and backed it into a parking spot. She then got out of the vehicle and handed him the keys. He noted that he had lost his keys somewhere two days prior to this incident. The woman ran over to a bicycle and took off south on Chestnut Street. She was described as a white female in her late 30's, slim build, dark brown hair, wearing a black baseball hat, black jacket, jeans, and a fanny pack. Nothing in the vehicle was taken. Police attempted to locate this female, but were unable.

Pastor Eric Johnson of the Church of Nazarene, 545 N. Terrace, said that sometime overnight an unknown suspect vandalized the outdoor church trailer. The suspect sprayed graffitti signs on all sides of the trailer. The pastor estimates that it might cost between $500 to $1,000 to repaint the areas.

A resident of South Crest Road said she had five packages delivered around noon. Shortly after being dropped off on the front porch, a white female stole them. The resident was able to record the footage from her video system. The footage showed the white female suspect come onto the front porch and take all five packages. She gave them to the passenger of a dark colored mini van. The packages contained a dress, fabric softener and misc. supplies.

At the Speedway at 7420 Bonny Oaks Dr., the manager said a gray Toyota Camry pulled up to the store and two black males got out. They came into the store and grabbed eight cases of beer (18 count boxes) and ran out. The manager said this same vehicle came this morning and did the same thing. He told the two males not to come back as they were getting into the vehicle. Police said the tag comes back to an address on Redding Road in Red Bank. Red Bank Police checked this address and found that the home owner had sold this vehicle two years ago.

On Firethorne Lane, the resident said sometime the prior night a black male came up to his vehicles that were parked outside and tried his Chevy's door handle first. When the unknown suspect could not get in, he tried the door handle on his GMC. This door was unlocked. The suspect took two handcuffs (one black ASP link and one Smith & Wesson hinge) and the holsters that they were in. The only description of the vehicle police were able to get is a dark-colored sedan.

A resident on Berkley Circle said someone had sprayed graffiti on her fence on two separate occasions.

A woman on Cameron Lane said her 2000 Ford Explorer's rear windshield was destroyed sometime during the early morning hours. She said the vehicle was parked in her driveway, and when she came out of the home to go to work, she noticed that someone had busted out the rear windshield and tore off the rear wiper.

A contractor said his construction trailer was stolen from the residence he was working on at Harbor Hills Road. He described his trailer as a red single-axle trailer with various tools inside. He valued the trailer at $1,800 and the tools inside at approximately $4,000. He said the trailer had been sitting in the driveway of that location during the renovation work for the homeowner.

An attorney on Brainerd Road said the apartment below his office had been playing loud music for several days, and it was upsetting his office staff and causing difficulty to conduct business. Police tried to contact the owner of the property, but were unable to reach him. Police also knocked on all the doors downstairs, but made no contact with anyone within.

A woman on Talley Road said her brother had brought a girl over to her place last night to spend the night with him. She said the next morning the girl was using some of her personal belongings, including her toothbrush and shampoo. The sister said she told the woman that she had to leave. Both began to get loud and got into a verbal disorder. It did not get physical, and the brother eventually left with his new friend.

The manager for Dominos Pizza on Dayton Boulevard reported a delivery was made to an apartment on Mountain Creek Road. The person who came to the door paid the $28 tab with a replica $100 bill. The apartment dweller got the pizza and $72 in change. Only later was it noticed that the bill was bogus.

A woman said she was in the women's bathroom at the Mapco on Rossville Boulevard when a black male ran into the bathroom. He grabbed her jacket and ran out with it. The woman said her cell phone and HIV pills were in the jacket.
