Man arrested for carjacking, kidnapping in Hamilton County

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – A man faces multiple charges after an alleged carjacking and kidnapping in Hamilton County.

Fred Cagle III was taken into custody Sunday.

At around 3:20 Sunday morning, Hamilton County deputies got a call about a stolen vehicle.

The victim told authorities that he had been assaulted in the Soddy Daisy area and forced to drive the suspect to the Kangaroo Express at 13424 Dayton Pike.

Authorities said that’s where the victim escaped.

At around 8:45 a.m., Deputies found the suspect while responding to a wreck on Pythian Road in Harrison.

They said Cagle fled into the wood, but was captured a short time later.

Investigators said the vehicle from the wreck was the same one that was stolen.

A person riding with the suspect sustained non life threatening injuries.

Cagle was arrested and charged with carjacking, kidnapping, leaving the scene of an injury crash, failure to render aid, and driving on revoked license.
