Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – January 5, 2019

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this weekend.

Halloween isn’t the only time you can take advantage of a haunted house.

Dread Hollow New Year’s Nightmare returns for one more night, Saturday, with a haunt and escape rooms you’ll never forget.

It’s happening from 7 to 10 p.m. at 321 Browns Ferry Road.

On Saturday, you’ll also have a chance to take a historic train ride in the Chattanooga area.

On the Missionary Ridge Local Train Ride, you’ll pass through a pre-civil war, horseshoe-shaped tunnel, and see a historic turntable demonstration.

The train leaves from the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum at 10:40 a.m., 12:05, 1:15 and 2:25 p.m. on Saturday.

’80s music fans will want to be at the Rubiks Groove concert Saturday night.

It’s also a dance party, with a video screen behind the band, to give off that MTV vibe throughout the show.

The concerts starts at 9 p.m. on the Songbirds South Stage.

Music from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial movie is coming to the Atlanta Symphony Hall Saturday night.

A full symphony orchestra will be performing John Williams’ Academy Award-winning score, in sync with the film projected on a huge HD screen.

The concert starts at 8 p.m.

The Atlanta Hawks are taking on the Miami Heat Sunday night.

The basketball game starts at 6 p.m. at the State Farm Arena.
