IMAX screens a breathtaking climb of El Capitan next week

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) “His was the kind of physical trial with only two possible outcomes: Either he was perfect, or he was going to die. That day, Honnold was perfect.”

Now you can see a death-defying rock climb for one week only at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater.

They will air the National Geographic film “Free Solo” on January 11-17.

The film documents Alex Honnold climb up the 3,000 foot vertical face of Yosemite National Park’s legendary El Capitan.. without any ropes or safety equipment.

Last week, Free Solo was put on the short list for an Academy Awards Best Documentary nomination.

Tickets to see Free Solo are $15.95 for adults and $12.95 for children (3-12). Screenings are at 7 p.m. Jan. 11-12, and 6 p.m. Jan. 13-17. To order online or learn more about the film, visit tnaqua.org/imax/free-solo.
