A third person has been arrested in a case in which police said an Hispanic man was severely assaulted.
Marcell Jermaine Marbury, 46, of 2001 S. Lyerly St., was charged with especially aggravated robbery.
Earlier, Demonte Chavez Cross and Alicia Orman were charged in a case in which police said a robbery victim was pistol whipped.
Cross, 26, of 604 Sylvan Dr., was charged with especially aggravated robbery.
In an incident on Sept.
29, police interviewed the victim after he had been taken to the hospital with blunt force trauma on his lips and the back of his head.
He said he was walking to 4th Avenue to call a taxi when he was approached by two black males and a white female with a black eye.
One of the males was armed with a silver pistol and he demanded money from him. He said the man with the gun pistol whipped him as the other male took his wallet that contained $600.
The next day, police located the white female with the black eye. She was identified as Ms. Orman.
Police said after reviewing video at East Lake Courts they were able to identify Cross as the suspect with the silver pistol. Marbury, identified as the boyfriend of Ms. Orman, was also seen in the video.
