Demonte Chavez Cross has been charged in a case in which police said a robbery victim was pistol whipped.

Cross, 26, of 604 Sylvan Dr., was charged with especially aggravated robbery.

In an incident on Sept. 29, police interviewed an Hispanic man who had been taken to the hospital with blunt force trauma on his lips and the back of his head.

He said he was walking to 4th Avenue to call a taxi when he was approached by two black males and a white female with a black eye.

One of the males was armed with a silver pistol and he demanded money from him. He said the man with the gun pistol whipped him as the other male took his wallet that contained $600.

The next day, police located the white female with the black eye. She was identified as Alicia Orman and was charged in the case.

Police said after reviewing video at East Lake Courts they were able to identify Cross as the suspect with the silver pistol.
