Charges Dismissed Against Teen Charged With Shooting Out Windows At Chicken Salad Chick

  • Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Charges against a teen that he did $8,700 in damages to a downtown business have been dismissed.

Prosecutors cited a "lack of evidence" in dismissing charges against Michael J.

Davis, 18, of 941 Runyan Dr. He had been charged with three counts of vandalism/malicious mischief.

Police said shots from a pellet gun destroyed four windows at Chicken Salad Chick at 629 Market St. in early July.

There was also damage at a nearby business at 605 Chestnut St.

Police said video showed a blue 1990s-model Chevrolet S-10 park near Chicken Salad Chick shortly after 2 a.m. Two people were lying in the back of the truck.

Officers were able to get the tag on the truck and trace it to the Davis residence on Runyan Drive. His father said his son regularly drives the truck.

The son and a friend spoke with police. Davis admitted driving the truck, but said he was not the one who fired the shots, police said earlier.

No other arrest was made.
