Sale Creek Home Destroyed By Fire Tuesday Night; Dog And Cat Perish

  • Wednesday, November 20, 2019

A Sale Creek home was destroyed by fire Tuesday night.

At 9:10 p.m., a neighbor called 911 to report a house fire at 15240 Slabtown Road in Sale Creek.

Firefighters from the Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded and reported the back of the single story house was fully involved with fire.

Once firefighters confirmed no one was inside the burning home, they conducted a “defensive attack”  to contain the fire to the home and keep the fire from spreading into the woods.

Two people were living at this residence but were not home when the fire started. When firefighters entered the home checking for hot spots, they found a dog and a cat that had expired in the fire. The homeowners will be staying with family and friends.

Chief Tony Reavley, Sale Creek VFD, reported the cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Reavley also mentioned the house will be a total loss.

It was unknown if the house was being occupied by anyone.

No injuries were reported, but HCEMS stood by on the scene for potential injuries to the firefighters.
