Lyonel Janio Gladden III
One of two men killed on Dec. 8 at the Bayberry Apartments was a YPD missionary and sang in the choir at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Lyonel Janio Gladden III., 22, was also a talented high school football player.
He was killed along with Hollis Malone, 23.
A third man was critically injured.
Lyonel Gladden worked at Volkswagen and had studied business management at Chattanooga State, according to his Facebook profile.
He was originally from Cleveland, Ohio.
Police have arrested Mark Caslin, 26, in the slayings. He is facing two counts of criminal homicide and one of attempted criminal homicide.
Lyonel Gladden was a 2016 graduate of Brainerd High School.
Survivors include his father, Lyonel Gladden, Sr. of Chattanooga; mother, Jane Gladden of Cleveland, Ohio, four brothers and six sisters. He also had four aunts and four uncles.
Visitation at Taylor Funeral Home will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday at noon in the chapel with Pastor Kenneth Love as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
