Golden Apple: Jessica Tate

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – When Jessica Tate was growing up, a teacher inspired her to go into the field of education.

Now, the Brown Academy Kindergarten teacher has taken up the profession herself.

Tate loves to help shape the minds of young students.

“I have a teacher, who was my second grade teacher. Her name was Mrs. Bell, and just made my whole educational experience magical so, she honestly is what sparked the interest in, for me becoming a teacher and making a difference in students lives.”

Tate is making a difference at Brown Academy.

Emily Baker is the Principal of the school.

“Jessica is great at building relationships with her students. She loves all of her kids. She is very good with parents. She is very meticulous with her plans. She is a great instructional person in the classroom.”

Jessica Tate describes herself as a teacher, caregiver, and a leader.

Her passion for the job has earned her this week’s Golden Apple Award.
