An engagement ring is missing at the N. Market Street Publix. The victim said that she was there around 5:30 p.m. and she last had her engagement ring on her finger. She said that it fits kind of loose. Within five minutes of getting there, she realized it was gone and she could not locate it anywhere. She said that it must have slipped off her finger at some point while at the grocery.

At a restaurant on River Street management said an employee of the restaurant went on break, but never returned. It was later discovered he had quit. After closing they discovered that the employee left with approximately $94 that belonged to the restaurant. The money the employee left with were orders he took that were paid in cash, it was stated. The employee was located and said he did not believe the money he left with was money that was supposed to go back to the restaurant. However, he said he would not contest the matter further and pay it back when he got his next check from his new job. The manager agreed to this and told him that if he did not keep his promise they would contact police again.

An officer responded to suspicious activity at 718 E 8th St. It was found that Cassandra Pangle and Jason Diamond had set up a tent that was too close to the Brown Academy. Diamond (police unsure if this is his real name ) ran from the scene. Ms. Pangle was instructed to remove her belongings from the area and not to come back, to which she agreed.

At the Walmart Neighborhood Grocery on Shallowford Road, a woman said she had gone to the store and, when leaving, forgot her pocket book in the cart. She said she realized it when she got home and went back to get it. When she arrived at the store she was told by an associate that the wallet was turned in by another associate picking up carts in the parking lot. The associate then stated moments later a young gentlemen came into the store and described the wallet to her so she gave him the wallet. Police watched store cameras to ID the man who claimed the wallet, but the woman said she did not recognize him. He left the store in a black Trans Am. The woman had her credit cards canceled.

An officer responded to a car fire at 2500 N Chamberlain Ave. Upon arrival he observed a green Oldsmobile Sedan with its front end on fire. Chattanooga Fire was already on the scene putting the flames out. The officer spoke with multiple witnesses who stated they did not see anyone around the vehicle, nor did anyone flag them down saying their vehicle was on fire. There was no evidence to suggest the fire was caused due to an accident. Reliable Towing recovered the vehicle from the incident location.

A resident of Kirkman Road said a package had been stolen off his front porch. He said the package was an iron and he had pictures of the suspect.

A woman on Cherryton Drive said at approximately 3:30 a.m. an unidentified suspect stole three checks out of her mailbox. She said she put the three checks in the mail the prior day and left them in the mailbox. The next morning, she found the mailbox open and the flag still up. Suspecting the checks had been stolen, she reviewed camera footage and observed a white, crew cab Chevy pickup truck pulling up to her mailbox at approximately 3:30 a.m. and a white male passenger lean out of the passenger side window and take the contents out of the mailbox. She said she already alerted her bank and had the checks cancelled and the account number changed.

A resident of Elmar Drive said he had laid his backpack containing his laptop computer on the rear of his vehicle and drove off. He said at Elmar and Franks Roads, it fell off of his vehicle. He said that when he went back to pick it up, it was gone. The man later sent an email which read "The backpack and laptop that I reported stolen was found by someone and returned to me, so this case can be closed now."

The manager at Les's Pawn Shop on Highway 58 said a homeless person had set up a tent and thrown trash around the back of the building. She said they have had burglaries from the back of the building and was in fear that the homeless person would be harmed if he stayed. Police went to the tent area behind the store in an attempt to make contact with the person living in the tent. Police could not locate the person living in the tent or anything identifiable that would reveal the identity.

A resident of E 16th Street said he had his vehicle running to warm it up and an unknown black male took his white 2005 Toyota Camry. It has a soccer ball magnet on the back and a St. Peter/St. Paul sticker on the window.

A man reported his wallet was stolen at 6921 Lee Hwy at Kacy's Restaurant. He stated that he was eating in the restaurant and he pulled his wallet out of his pocket to pay the bill. He said that he gave the clerk a wet $100 bill because his wallet was put through the washer and all the bills were still wet. He said he then placed the wallet back in his pocket and, when he went to the restroom, he said that he believes that the wallet may have dropped out of his back pocket there. He then left the restaurant and said that he was going to try to buy a vehicle with the $3,100 that he had left in his wallet. When they got to Highway 58 to buy a vehicle he asked his wife if she had the wallet and she said that she did not. He said he checked his pockets and he did not have it either. He then got back into the vehicle and drove back to the restaurant. He checked the bathroom and the wallet was not anywhere to be found. He was told there was a party that was in the restroom but was unsure if that person took the wallet or not because this was an hour after he left the business. He said that the wallet was a navy blue soft leather checkbook that only had cash in it. He said that there was $3,100 dollars in $100 dollar bills.
