Police Blotter: Woman Uses Water Cup To Grab A Frosty At Wendy's; Man Who Left Store With Another's Lost Wallet Returns It To His House

Police were at Nephew's Bar at 4380 Dorris St. when they observed two black males on the side of the building quickly run back into the bar. An officer went over to check the area where he saw the males and he located a black Parabellum 9mm handgun in the grass. The handgun was loaded with one in the chamber. The officer tried to relocate the males, but was unable to figure out who they were because the bar was so crowed. The handgun came back negative as stolen.

Officers responded on a stolen auto at the Courtyard Marriott on 200 Chestnut St. A woman said her silver BMW was not where she parked it the previous night. She said the last time she saw her vehicle it was on the third level of the parking deck. Police searched all levels of the parking deck and were not able to locate the vehicle. Police called NCIC and entered the stolen vehicle and also issued a BOLO for the stolen vehicle.

The assistant manager of Supershine at 5972 Brainerd Road  said she had a customer damage the lift pole and one of the pay gates. She was able to show a video of an older white male driving a white Jeep Grand Cherokee accidentally drive through the restriction pole while attempting to pay for a car was at one of the stations. The man left prior to police arrival. The damages were approximately $800.

At Verizon at 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd.,  a black female wearing a pink shirt and white ball cap claiming to be named Kaye Solomon entered the store. She told an employee that she wanted to purchase two iPhone XS Max’s. The phones were placed on an employee desk for her to inspect. At that point the employee stepped away to show the woman protective cases for the phones. While the employee was turned away the suspect grabbed the phones and hurriedly departed the location with phones in hand. Police attempted to locate a person with the name she gave, but concluded it was a false name. Value of the two phones was $2,220.

A man said he left his wallet while checking out at 7804 E. Brainerd Road. When he returned it was gone. Video of a black male wearing black clothing is seen picking up the wallet and exiting the store. He got into a red SUV and left the scene. Police spoke with the victim by phone later. He said Antonio Tate showed up at his residence and returned his wallet to him. He said everything was in the wallet. Antonio matched the person seen on the video leaving with the wallet. The man who lost his wallet said there had not been any activity on his debit or credit cards.

An officer began to write a ticket for an improperly parked red Ford F150 at 113 Peerless Ave. While beginning to write the parking ticket, owner Bob Parish came out to talk to the officer. Bob was informed to not park facing on-coming traffic and nor should he park his vehicle up and over the sidewalk. Bob stated, "I've parked this way for 25 years." The officer informed him that "unless he wanted to receive parking violations that it would behoove him to fix this infraction, to which he complied."

At Wendy's at 7019 Shallowford Road, an employee said a black female asked for a water cup. When she received it she filled it with Frosty instead of water. She was told she could only fill the cup with water. When told this, the woman threw the Frosty in the employee's direction. She proceeded to curse, scream, and then left on foot.

A man on Chamberlain Avenue said he parked his truck at home early in the morning. He later found that someone had pried open his tailgate and cut the chain securing his toolbox. They took the tools. He estimated the value of the tools and box to be $500.

At Walmart on Gunbarrel Road, police met with the store manager, who said a white male walked in the front door of the store and pretended to shop around and ask the employees questions for an extended amount of time. She said after receiving help from the employees, the man entered a fitting room and was in there for 10+ minutes. She said when he left the fitting room that he left his buggy with several items in it sitting in the store and walked out. She then realized that he had switched his pants for a pair of Michael Kors pants in the fitting room. The man suspect had placed the tag from the stolen pants on his old pants and hung them on a hanger to make them appear as if they were new. Walmart provided a photo of the pants thief.

A man on Davis Avenue said he had stopped by his mom's house to get some clothes. He said he  was inside for around five minutes, and, when he came back out, his vehicle was gone. The vehicle was a black 2007 Chevy Tahoe. It had a new rear passenger side quarter panel, that was discolored from the rest of the vehicle. The man said he also had a Springfield .40 cal handgun in the glove box with 12 rounds in it when the vehicle was stolen.

A loss prevention employee at the Gunbarrel Road Walmart said a man entered the store and stuffed some merchandise in a bag. He then tried to leave the store without paying through the Garden Center. She said that he tried to climb over the fence there, but he could not carry the bag over because it was too heavy and he dropped it before he exited the store. She said that the bag contained 15 items for a total value of $230.87. The employee said the suspect has stolen from the store before but she does not have any information on him other than a description.
