An intruder refused police commands to come out from a basement at a house on Fairfax Drive on Friday. A K-9 then came to the scene and helped get Eric Lee Steele into custody.

Steele, 29, of 3729 W. Abercrombie Circle, was charged with burglary and criminal trespass.

A neighbor reported seeing a man go into the basement. Police then responded on a burglary in progress call.

It was found that Steele had gone through items in the basement.

The owner was summoned to the scene.

He said he did not know the man and he had no permission to be there.
