Fire Damages Vacant Home On Duncan Avenue For The 2nd Time In Less Than 2 Weeks

Fire damaged a vacant home on Duncan Avenue early Friday morning.

Firefighters from E5, L5, Q1,S1 E4, Battalion 1, and Battalion 3 responded to a reported structure fire at 2116 Duncan Ave. just before 1 a.m. Captain John Ives of E5 reported a working fire upon arrival.

Neighbors confirmed to fire personnel on scene that no one was living in the house. It took crews roughly 30 mins to get the fire under control.

Due to the structure being vacant and also it being the second time in less than two weeks that units responded to this location for a reported fire, Investigators Anthony Moore and Jason Rains were notified by Capt. Damien Vinson (Battalion 1).

The cause is under investigation. Damages are estimated at $15,000.
