14-Year-Old Who Shot And Killed Older Teen Is Found Guilty Of 2nd-Degree Murder

A teen who was 14 at the time he shot and killed another teen was convicted of second-degree murder in a case heard Wednesday and Thursday by Juvenile Court Judge Rob Philyaw.

Ja’Mond Moorer, who is now 15, was found guilty in the shooting death of Iziyah Spence, who was 18 at the time.

The incident occurred last Oct. 4 at 2002 Portland St.

The victim’s body was later found at 510 N. Kelley St.

Moorer was sentenced to the custody of juvenile justice until his 19th birthday. That is the maximum sentence available, court officials said.

The Hamilton County DA’s office prosecuted the case. Mike Acuff was the defense attorney.
