Tanisha Jennings Suttles
A Chattanooga woman has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly shooting at another woman on Thursday at the parking lot of a convenience store on Shallowford Road.
According to police, Tanisha Suttles, 27, shot her cousin, Shameika Jennings, 30, after getting into an altercation at the Sunoco gas station at 5902 Shallowford Road.
Ms.
Jennings’ car had run out of gas, so she had a stranger take her to the gas station.
When she arrived, Ms. Jennings saw Ms. Suttles, who had also been at the gas station.
Ms. Jennings then walked up to Ms. Suttles and began to argue with her, prompting Ms. Suttles to pull out a small handgun and shoot Ms. Jennings in the head.
Ms. Jennings did not even realize that she had been shot until she went into the gas station and asked someone to call the police.
When the police arrived, witnesses corroborated Ms. Jennings’ story.
Ms. Jennings was then transported to Erlanger Hospital.
Ms. Suttles was also charged with reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.
