Another shoplifting was at 3604 Brainerd Road at RMJ Liquor. Police observed that the glass in the front door had been broken out and lay shattered on the ground in front of the store. Police reviewed store footage and observed the suspect, a black male wearing a yellow and green striped polo shirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap, select items from the store and put them into a red bag he was carrying. A resident of Elaine Trail said someone had taken a check out of his mailbox. The thieves were in a newer silver-colored Nissan sedan. They pulled next to the mailbox and drove off. It appears to be a black male in the passenger seat and a dark complected possible white male driver. The resident said he had been in contact with his bank (Comtrust), who said an unknown white male had cashed the check at the downtown office with a fingerprint on the check. Complainant was told by the bank that no identification of the subject was documented on the check at the time it was cashed. The check itself was originally written for $52.10, according to the complainant who showed officers a carbon copy of the original check. The check amount had been altered to $961 and was cashed by the downtown branch. The name of the individual on the check is Vincent Z. Boscemi of Ringgold, Ga. The resident said his bank was attempting to provide him a picture of the man cashing the check.
