Teen Suffers Electrical Shock While Painting Roof At Pilgrim's Pride On Broad Street

An 18-year-old who was painting the roof at a chicken processing plant on Broad Street suffered an electrical shock on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters from Q1, L1, and S1 responded to a Pilgrim's Pride plant at 1591 Broad St. 

Witnesses on the scene said a crew was on the roof painting. While painting the side of the building one of the poles being used struck a live power line.

The Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS were able to quickly access the patient to begin treatment. Fire crews used the Aerial Ladder from Ladder 1 to remove the victim from the rooftop.

He was alert as he was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
