Three people were shot in Chattanooga on Monday night and Tuesday morning, including Joel Ervin, 37, who died.
The fatal shooting was at the Hamilton Pines Apartments on Pinewood Avenue.
At approximately 2:31 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call at 3301 Pinewood Ave. Hamilton County EMS pronounced Ervin deceased on scene. It was stated to police that he was getting out of a vehicle when he was shot.
CPD Violent Crimes Bureau responded to conduct further investigation.
Ervin was said to have been staying at the apartments off North Seminole, but not a tenant.
Two men, 27 and 26, were shot Monday night on Milne Street.
Chattanooga Police responded to a shots fired call in the 2200 block of Milne Street on Monday at 9:38 p.m. Shortly after arriving on scene, officers were notified that two men arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
After confirming they were shot on Milne Street, officers secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond.
Investigators spoke with the victims and witnesses and determined a group of people were gathered outside when a vehicle drove by and began shooting.
The victims were transported by personal vehicles to a local hospital.
