Michael J. Davis, 18, Charged With Downtown Vandalism That Caused $8,700 In Damages

A teen is charged in an incident in which bb pellets did $8,700 in damages to a business downtown early Tuesday morning.

Michael J. Davis, 18, of 941 Runyan Dr., is charged with three counts of vandalism/malicious mischief.

Police said the shots destroyed four windows at Chicken Salad Chick at 629 Market St.

There was also damage at a nearby business at 605 Chestnut St.

Video showed a blue 1990s-model Chevrolet S-10 park near Chicken Salad Chick shortly after 2 a.m. Two people were lying in the back of the truck.

Officers were able to get the tag on the truck and trace it to the Davis residence on Runyan Drive. His father said his son regularly drives the truck.

The son and a friend spoke with police. Davis admitted driving the truck, but said he was not the one who fired the shots.

No other arrest has been made.

He is under a $4,000 bond.
