UPDATE: escaped Hamilton County inmate captured

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)- MONDAY UPDATE: According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Anthony Labron Bell has been captured.

SUNDAY EVENING UPDATE: CPD responded to Professional Industrial Tire this afternoon on Riverside Drive after a commercial burglary was reported.

Officers located Bell’s hospital gown and ID bracelet. His handcuffs were not located, but officers believe he may have been able to remove them or cut the chain.

HCSO is not able to update on Bell’s current attire because there were various work outfits on the property.

HCSO is now working with local, state and federal partners to locate Bell.

He has been added to the TBI Top 10 Most Wanted list.

Business owners and residents near Riverside Drive and Wilcox Boulevard are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON:According to Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the escaped inmates name is Anthony Labron Bell.

The inmate was being held at the Hamilton County Jail for various charges and he also has a warrant from Lowndes County, Georgia.

According to HCSO, the inmate was brought to Erlanger Medical Center on July 5th.

There is an Internal Affairs Investigation to determine if proper procedures were followed.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says that they did not release the inmates name earlier so that their Fugitive Division could work on any leads that they may have.

Inmate Bell was last seen wearing a green hospital gown, no shoes, and handcuffs.

Some of Bell’s Charges include aggravated burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and he has a statutory rape case pending in Georgia.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have any information or may have seen him to contact them at 423-622-0022.

Updated information: According to HCSO, the inmate is a black male, 5’10”, weighing 160 pounds, and is 29 years old.

He was last seen wearing a green Erlanger Hospital gown and handcuffs.

Original Post: The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an inmate that has escaped custody.

According to HCSO, the inmate was receiving medical treatment at Erlanger Hospital this morning around 6:30 am.

Officers are still looking for the suspect.
