Police Blotter: No One Claims Expensive Trek Bike; Vehicle "Catches Air" Going Over Cromwell Tracks; Dirty Backhoe Damages Car Behind It On I-75

A woman on Hamilton Avenue in North Chattanooga said she found a Trek mountain bike in front of her house. She said the bike had been sitting out front of her house for three to four days. An officer "checked the bicycle for stolen and the bike showed no stolen." The bicycle was turned into property as no owner could be located.

Jeffery Michels and Jean Ott reported they went over the railroad tracks on Cromwell Road at around 40 mph and when they did, they "caught air." When they hit the ground again, Mr. Ott, who was a passenger, and Ms. Ott were injured. Mr. Ott's shoulder was hurt and Ms. Ott's back was hurting. There was no damage to the vehicle.

A woman said her husband, Walter Willis, was driving on I-75 South and they were behind a work truck that had a trailer on it. It also had a Ford backhoe on the trailer, which had dirt and rocks on it. As they were driving behind the vehicle, some debris came off the trailer and then struck their vehicle. The debris caused damage to the front end and cracked the windshield in multiple places. Mr. Willis tried to signal for the other vehicle to stop but they kept on going. The vehicle that had the trailer on it had a Georgia tag, which comes back to a Chevrolet Silverado.

A woman said she was pumping gas at the Speedway when she thinks she placed her wallet on top of her car. She said when she left she forgot about her wallet. Wen she returned her wallet was gone. After losing her wallet she canceled the cards but not before they had been used at a gas station and the Walmart on Gunbarrel Road.

At 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd., the manager of Simply Mac said two black males and a black female had come into the store and stole two MacBook Pro laptops that were on display, worth $1,500 each. They ran off with the computers. The suspects were seen on camera and photos were obtained. They were seen arriving and leaving in a gray 2018 Nissan Altima.

A woman said she was at Stir at the Chattanooga Choo Choo around 8:30 or 9 p.m. She last had her company cell phone with her in the bathroom. She then left and the next morning realized that she had left it there by accident. She then went back to Stir, but she could not find it and it had not been turned in.
