Camaron Billips
A report on a SWAT Team incident at a house at 510 Gillespie Road on July 25 says Camaron Billips was shot when he pointed a loaded Glock handgun toward officers.
It says two shots were fired by one officer armed with a rifle at Billips, and he was hit in the lower torso by one of the shots.
Billips was moved on Wednesday from a hospital to the Hamilton County Jail.
He is charged with four counts of aggravated assault on police, possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime, unlawfully carrying a weapon, possession of heroin, crack cocaine and suboxone for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the SWAT Team was used because it was considered a high-risk weapons and narcotics search warrant.
Officers gave loud verbal commands over a loudspeaker. When no one came out, they used "flash-bang" devices at the front and rear of the residence as a "distraction" during a forced entry.
Four officers who forced their way inside said they found Billips and Carmen Iris Noble lying on a mattress in the living room. Demetrius Bibbs was found hiding in the residence.
Police said they found heroin, crack cocaine and suboxone in the residence along with drug paraphernalia.
Billips had felony charges of evading arrest in 2014 in Bradley County and in McMinn County.
