Man, 35, Shot While Walking Near Walnut Street Bridge Early Sunday Morning

A 35-year-old man was shot while walking near the Walnut Street Bridge early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:09 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital on a report of a person who arrived with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who was suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound.
 
The CPD Violent Crimes Bureau was notified and responded. The victim advised he was walking in the area near the Walnut Street Bridge when he heard several gunshots and realized he had been shot.
He was given a ride to the hospital by personal vehicle.
 
Police were unable to locate evidence of a crime scene.
 
Police are actively investigating the case to try to determine the actual events that took place.
