A Hamilton County Corrections employee has been arrested after an altercation early Thursday morning.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched at 3:47 a.m. on Thursday, to 10800 Birchwood Pike (boat ramp) on an unknown trouble call.
Upon arriving, deputies determined an altercation had taken place and shots had been fired.
An investigation into the incident was conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
This investigation determined Christopher Harden, 23, was involved in an altercation with Richard Collins, 55, at the boat ramp.
The investigation also determined Christopher Harden discharged a pistol in the direction of Richard Collins and Michelle Wells, 47.
Harden was arrested and is in the process of being booked at the Hamilton County Jail on two two counts of aggravated assault.
Harden is an employee of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division. He was hired on July 22, and is still within his probationary employment period.
This incident occurred while Harden was off duty and the weapon used was his personal weapon.
Sheriff Hammond has reviewed this incident and has determined there is sufficient reason to believe Harden committed the offenses as charged; therefore, due to his probationary status, Harden’s employment with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has been terminated.
