Police responded to a shoplifting at the Speedway on E. 3rd Street. A clerk said a black male dressed in all black and wearing a black toboggan attempted to steal an entire box of Honey Buns. She said she saw the suspect putting the box of Honey Buns in his jacket, but she confronted him and made him put the box down. She said he may have kept a few of them in his jacket, but then he fled the scene.

A man on Belmeade Avenue said he started his car and put a basket of laundry into the vehicle. He went back inside to grab some more laundry, but when he came back out to his car, it was gone. He said he had numerous valuables inside, including watches and rings, valued at $2,000. He also had paycheck stubs and work equipment in the vehicle. The vehicle had front bumper damage on the passenger side as well as an X scratched into the passenger side door. The man said he has left his vehicle running outside numerous times without incident. His insurance has lapsed.

A woman on Garden Road said she saw signs that sometime during the night someone had entered her back yard and got into her hot tub. She is concerned that she could be liable if someone was to get hurt or drowned on her property.

A woman on E. 47th Street said she and her boyfriend were out front of their home playing around. An anonymous person called in saying that the woman had her boyfriend in a headlock. Police separated both the woman and her boyfriend for questioning. Both said they were out front of their home waiting for the power to be turned back on and were just playing around and laughing. The woman admitted they were kind of being loud, but maintained it was just fun. Police were not able to see any marks showing.

Police observed a suspicious vehicle that was running in front of a motor repair shop at 1725 Market St. When an officer approached the vehicle he noticed a man sleeping in the driver's seat. After he was awakened, the man said he was the watchman for the property.

The manager of Applebees on Brainerd Road said Mr. Hall had been at his restaurant all day and had not paid for his meal. The manager stated that he would pay Mr. Hall's tab so that he would leave. Mr. Hall left the building.

Police checked out a case at a residence on 2nd Avenue. The female resident said a man was looking around her house and had possibly removed a window screen. She said she knows the man, but only by his alias "Boo Man." She advised she would call the police if she learned Boo Man's real name and/or if he showed back up.

There was a disorder at a house on Derby Downs Dr. A woman said her daughter accidentally collided with the front of her home. She said she was inside when she heard a loud noise from the front of the house. When she exited the home to investigate she saw the daughter and a friend in the car her grandmother purchased for her. The mother was upset and demanded to know what happened. The daughter and her friend left the scene. Later the daughter returned and refused to exit the vehicle or re-enter the home. Responding police located her and the vehicle at the end of the cul de sac. She agreed to return home without trouble. Both mom and daughter agreed the damage to the home was unintentional.

A man met police at an address on Lee Highway and told of attempting to sell his bow on Let Go. He said he messaged the people attempting to buy the bow and agreed to meet them at the Lee Highway location. He said he was given what appeared to be $120 in cash and gave the unknown women the bow. Police looked at the paper that was given to him, which appeared to be a very poor copy of $20 bills and the paper did not feel like money.

At a store on E. 23rd Street, the manager said a black male entered the business, grabbed several packs of meat and stuffed them into his pants. The suspect then ran out of the store without paying for the meats. He got into a dark blue Murano and drove off.

Police responded to a utility theft on Wheeler Avenue. A woman said she called because someone has been stealing electricity from a house she owns. She said the residence is vacant at the moment and her electric bill is normally around $15. However, she received her bill for this month and noticed it had increased to around $50. She checked the property and noticed there was an extension cord plugged into the outdoor receptacle at the rear of her house. Police observed the extension cord ran to a neighbor's house. Police observed the extension cord was run through the rear window of the neighboring abode. Police observed that it appeared that someone at 853 Wheeler was trying to steal the power from the nearby home. Police attempted to speak to the residents at 853 but were unable to make contact. The woman was informed she could remove the extension cord and should contact EPB and inform them of the situation.

Back at the Speedway at 1330 E 3rd St, an employee said a woman in an orange sweatshirt had stolen 11 king-sized Reese's and a box of doughnuts. She then exited the store and headed east on East 3rd. There is video of the woman taking the sweets.
