Property taxes that remain unpaid on March 1 or later will be subject to a 1.5 percent interest fee. It is important to note that the Treasurer’s Office is restricted from waiving interest resulting from late payments.

Customers may experience a longer wait than usual if they decide to pay in person.

“We are more than happy to assist our customers who visit our offices,” said Tanikia Jackson, interim city treasurer. “However, due to the volume of customers at this very busy time of year, we do ask for patience as we serve each customer with their transactions.”

If you have questions, email the Treasurer's Office at ptax@chattanooga.gov or call 423-643-7262 between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Property owners that are past due in March may receive a reminder letter from the City of Chattanooga’s Treasurer Office.
