Firefighters Forced to Shuttle In Water To Battle House Fire on Lookout Mountain

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Firefighters were forced to shuttle water by tankers to battle a house fire on Lookout Mountain Tuesday morning. A home at the 500 block of Lower Cravens Terrace caught fire around 2 a.m. which proved to be a difficult area for firefighters to work.

The home is on a steep hill below Cravens House and the nearest fire hydrant was 3,000 feet away. Adding to the challenges was the narrow driveway which forced crews to carry hoses and equipment to the scene.

All of the residents escaped the fire. One of the residents burned her hand while attempting to move her car which was also on fire.

The home is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
