Section of Signal Mountain Road closed for a week

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A short section of Signal Mountain Road has been reduced down to one lane starting today.

EPB will be replacing a transmission pole as part of our routine maintenance schedule.

The work is expected to take about a week.

The lane closure will take place on Signal Mountain Road behind Signal Mountain Cement which is located at 1201 Suck Creek Road.

EPB Spokesperson Scottie Summerlin says “This is just part of our routine maintenance that we have scheduled to make sure that all of our poles are in good shape. The road is going to be closed between 9 and 2 which we are hoping is a less busy time of day for folks going to work and school- things like that.”

This work is weather dependent. Should weather or unforeseen circumstances cause delays, it will be rescheduled for a later date.

Please drive slowly through the area!
