Off-Duty HCSO Court Officer Arrested after Involvement in Shooting

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF): An off-duty Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Court Officer was arrested by Chattanooga Police Saturday afternoon at 1920 Chestnut st, the Henry Lofts.

The off-duty HCSO Officer, Lauren McMillion, was involved in the shooting and suffered a gunshot wound.

According to CPD, responding officers found McMillion inside the Henry Lofts while an adult male who claimed to have shot her was found outside of the apartment building.

McMillion was treated at a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.

While investigating, CPD learned that McMillion was accusing a man of theft and physically assaulted the man with the help of another male party.

According to CPD, McMillion threatened her loaded firearm during the assault which the man was able to disarm and then, fire at McMillion which he says was in fear for his life.

McMillion and her accomplice, Stanley Asegbola have been charged with Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping by the Chattanooga Police.

The man who claimed to have shot McMillion along with two other males were detained at Silverdale Detention Center but not charged.

HCSO placed McMillion on administrative leave following the incident pending the conclusion of an internal and criminal investigation.

Chattanooga Police is currently investigating the incident.
